Grant funding for farmers

It has been announced this week that the Countryside Productivity Small Grant Scheme has reopened. Applicants can apply for between £3,000 and £12,000, to cover 40% of the cost of new technology and innovation to grow their farm businesses. An extensive list is available detailing all that can be applied for, including:

• cattle, sheep and pig specific equipment (such as handling systems, EID equipment),
• precision farming equipment such as direct drills, variable rate controllers for sprayers, yield monitors,
• resource management equipment such as dribble bars, trailing shoe slurry systems,
• other general equipment such as humidity controls and grain stirrers.

If you think you’d like to make an application, please give Jonathan or Jo in the Agriculture Department a call to discuss. The application window is open until 3rd September but with harvest looming it would be better to start the process sooner rather than later.
